One of the most prestigious high schools in Bulgaria – Secondary School for Foreign Languages “Romain Rolland“ in Stara Zagora, has made a stylish change in its external appearance, relying on patinated brass letters to spell out the school’s name. For more than half a century, “Romain Rolland” has been synonymous with quality education.

The school building is part of the city’s architectural heritage, and its facade is clad in limestone. It is precisely for this reason that the management of the high school decided that the facade letters should be made of patinated brass. The name of the school is also the face of the building. It says “Hello”to every student, teacher, every visitor.

Patinated brass letters on the facade of “Romain Rolland”

Every passer-by “encounters” the inscription, whether or not they enter the building. Apart from its aesthetic appeal, the selection of brass channel letters also bestows a unique gravitas and authority upon the school. The lettering is positioned between the second and third floors, directly on the stone cladding, nestled between the windows. Brass letters seamlessly complement the school’s architecture.

We have presented one of the finest choices, impeccably harmonizing with the building’s architectural style – namely, patinated brass channel letters and brass signs.

Media Design offers a diverse selection for the execution of channel letters

With pure lacquered brass, we have retention of appearance and durability. In contrast, raw brass undergoes a natural patina transformation over time, altering its original look. The third option involves a faster patination process, as the brass channel letters are pre-treated to achieve a retro aesthetic – vintage channel letters.

Patinated brass exhibits a distinctive style and aging process, deliberately sought after in this context. As time passes, external atmospheric conditions influence the material, causing it to change its initial appearance. This is where the school’s brass letters attain their retro charm.

When creating channel letters Stara Zagora, we used the most common material – acrylic. Another option for stable and representative advertising is our system with aluminum pages. There are many options for creating an elegant advertisement for your business, and our professionals will take care of its flawless implementation.
